I am really looking forward to all the time changes of current DJs and new DJs joining the Radio 1 team! My favourite, Greg James is getting the drive time slot 4-7pm on weekdays and I am so proud and excited for him! Something else that’s happening is Jameela Jamil, a current T4 presenter, taking over Tom Deacon’s Sunday slot and creating a request show! I personally think it’s all going to be incredible, however some people aren’t happy about the fact Scott Mills will be taking Greg’s current place on the 1-4 show.

Benjamin Francis Leftwich's Live Lounge!
I was a bit gutted that I gave up my ticket to see Benjamin Francis Leftwich on Thursday night in Manchester because I was ill and listening to his Radio 1 Live lounge has shown me what I missed, it was amazing from his first son 'Pictures' to the brilliant cover of 'Titanium' by David Guetta and Sia.
This cover actually shows how amazing the lyrics are of this song and I think that Sia should get more praise for her part in the track.

Katy Perry @M.E.N Arena
This was a concert that was mass produced to create a very
special evening for everyone inside the M.E.N, and I enjoyed every bit. We
arrived at the venue late which left me gutted as I had missed half of Oh Land's set. She is a
french singer that I didn't know was the support until I walked in and heard my
favourite song 'Sun Of A Gun' :(
The curtains pulled up and we were greeted by a stage that was transformed into 'Candyfornia', complete with candy-cane banisters, candyfloss clouds and much more, there was a lot to take in.
The show started with a story about her cat 'Kitty Purry', which was helped along by some funny videos to move the night along. Seeing the singer perform 'Thinking Of You' at the far end of the arena on a pink cloud, was great as we were sat on the far side of the arena meaning we could now see that it was definately Katy Perry not just someone in a pink wig. As it was halloween many fans dressed up as her or your more traditional halloween costumes like ghosts and witches.

As Katy travelled on the pink cloud she noticed peoples outfits and complimed them on their effort, making me wish i had dressed up. Two girls dressed as pumpkins which she extremely liked and later tweeted them after the concert.
Overall a great talent that is complimented by her imagination of set design and the wackiness of the costumes. Also, in one song, she had 7 costume changes!
She finished the night off with hit 'California Gurls' which included cream being sprayed into the audience as well as confetti and beach balls making us all feel like we are in steamy California rather than a freezing cold Autumn night in Manchester.

The Wombats @ Manchester o2 Apollo
This band are up there as one of the most enjoyable gigs I have been to.
They are under-rated and deserve much more recognition than they get in the charts and the radio. The support acts were decent, I knew a few of the songs by Morning Parade and i really enjoyed the second support who were called 'Team Me'. They wore brightly coloured clothing and had feathers in their hair. They where Norweigan i think...so the wait in a sweaty crowd was worth it. The crowd went mental as we stood a few rows from the front, waiting for them to come on. We were bouncing about the place already to one of the supports songs and already I stunk beer which resulted in me having to throw out one of my favourite shirts that was stained, although it was a brilliant gig so I got over it.
From the first song, Our Perfect Disease, to the last Lets Dance to Joy Division, the crowd jumped and sang to every note. With the light show complimenting the energetic atmosphere in the theatre, it overall was a great night out!
They sound as good live as they do on a CD, although I woke up without legs it was worth every bit! Ticket prices were also very reasonable. The white suits were a good touch too.
